About the Role
The School of Philosophy, Politics and Economics is seeking a highly capable and motivated Executive Support Officer to provide professional administrative and organisational support to senior academic leaders. This is a key position within the School, offering the opportunity to be involved in coordination, communication, project activity and service enhancement across a dynamic academic environment.
You will be central to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, delivering high-quality administrative support, and acting as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Operational Support
- Manage diaries, meeting schedules and correspondence for senior School leaders.
- Coordinate School events, visits, committees and special projects.
- Maintain strong communication channels between staff, students, and external partners.
Administrative & Data Management
- Support data collection, reporting processes, and document preparation.
- Manage financial processes including invoicing, purchasing and budget tracking.
- Uphold accurate record-keeping and compliance with University procedures.
Service Improvement & Workflow Coordination
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Work collaboratively to ensure smooth operational flow across the School.
About You
We are looking for a proactive, organised and confident individual who can balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Essential Attributes
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in a higher-education or customer-facing environment.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital workflow tools.
- Clear communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- A professional, flexible and positive approach to work.
