Exciting Opportunity: Customer Order and Fulfilment Specialist at Dowty Propellers

Join a dynamic team responsible for Dowty Propellers’ customer support activities. As a Customer Order and Fulfilment Specialist, you will play a key role in managing essential customer accounts and providing vital support to keep both airlines and military customers flying. This varied role presents a new challenge each day, where you’ll handle day-to-day queries, understand and manage contractual terms, and ensure the business executes against these terms. You will also provide weekly status reports on all customer orders through coordination with Operations and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve complex customer issues. You’ll take ownership of KPIs related to both departmental processes and customer accounts, proactively working to meet or exceed these targets.

As part of the Customer Operations department, you will work within a regulated Quality system, following key processes. You should be computer literate, eager to learn new processes, and ideally have experience with ERP systems. This role requires a self-motivated team player who can work independently and with peers to drive internal improvement projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills through training and support from the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Customer Orders, including Repairs and Spares orders.
• Generate and prioritize the Customer Order Book.
• Provide accurate quotations and ensure timely invoicing.
• Handle customer forecasting and support customer satisfaction by swiftly resolving issues.
• Understand contract terms and execute against them effectively.
• Monitor and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), addressing negative trends and initiating corrective actions.
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and customers for assigned contracts.
• Advocate for customer needs and negotiate internally on their behalf.
• Follow established procedures, while continuously seeking process improvements.
• Build strong relationships with international customers.
• Contribute to and lead continuous improvement projects within the department.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous commercial or customer-facing experience.

• Lean training or experience in leading continuous improvement projects.
• Problem-solving skills, ownership of issue resolution, and attention to key metrics.
