The Opportunity
A consultant-level neurologist is invited to join a collaborative medicine division delivering specialist neurological care across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. This post offers the chance to work within a supportive consultant team focused on accessible, high-quality outpatient and inpatient services — while helping shape future service development across the region.
The role combines clinical autonomy with strong peer support and encourages development of sub-specialist interests alongside core neurology practice.
Clinical Scope of the Role
- Deliver up to four consultant-led neurology outpatient clinics weekly
- Conduct a dedicated virtual referral triage clinic
- Provide inpatient neurological reviews, primarily at Hinchingbrooke Hospital
- Support evolving cross-site consultant coverage models
- Develop and run sub-specialty clinics aligned with expertise
- Participate in governance, audit, and departmental teaching
- Flexibility is expected to deliver services across multiple hospital sites depending on patient need.
About You
You are a neurologist committed to safe, patient-centred care and collaborative working.
Essential profile:
- Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent)
- MRCP or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- GMC specialist registration (or within 6 months of CCT) in Neurology, Acute/Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
- Independent clinical decision-making capability
- Experience supervising trainees and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to audit, governance, and continuing professional development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable attributes:
- Higher academic qualification
- Research or publication record
- Experience in structured neurology training programmes
- An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
