Community Midwife with Special Focus on Genomic Medicine Integration
In addition to the core responsibilities of a community midwife, the post holder for this role will be responsible for coordinating and effectively managing the integration of genomic medicine into community midwifery services. This will include establishing referral pathways to Genomic Medicine, as well as delivering education and training across the region.
The role involves working closely with Genetic Counsellors and Clinical Geneticists to enhance and develop referral pathways between Community Midwifery and Genomic Medicine. The successful candidate will also deliver training and education sessions to Community Midwives and work as part of the Genomic Medicine clinical team to ensure pregnant patients receive the highest quality of care. Additionally, they will provide update sessions to the Genomic Medicine clinical team on relevant maternity processes and procedures.
