About the Role
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to become part of a dedicated out-of-hours hospital team, where your contribution directly supports patient care during critical periods.
As a Clinical Support Worker, you’ll assist nursing staff and doctors by delivering timely, safe, and compassionate care to patients across inpatient wards. Working mainly outside standard hours, you’ll help ensure essential clinical tasks are completed efficiently, supporting the smooth operation of urgent and emergency services.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting nurses and clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care
Responding to clinical task requests via internal hospital systems
Assisting with routine patient observations and comfort needs
Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organised clinical environment
Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Contributing to a responsive service that supports urgent care delivery
You’ll play an important part in ensuring patients receive consistent care, especially during evenings, nights, and weekends.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Basic qualifications in Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent)
Care Certificate or Level 3 Care qualification (or equivalent experience)
Previous experience in care or customer-facing role
Strong communication skills (spoken and written English)
Ability to work well within a team environment
Flexible approach to shift patterns, including nights and weekends
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
Awareness of safeguarding and patient safety principles
Training & Development
- You’ll receive structured induction training, including a 3-day clinical induction, along with ongoing development opportunities to build your clinical and professional skills.
