Role Overview

What You’ll Be Doing
Clinical Care
- Deliver specialist mental health support to children and young people with learning disabilities
- Apply evidence-based assessment, risk management and safeguarding principles
- Support medication management in line with clinical standards
- Contribute to recovery-focused care planning
Team & Service Contribution
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary CAMHS environment
- Provide or receive clinical supervision
- Participate in quality improvement and reflective practice initiatives
- Support student learning and practice development
Family & Partnership Working
- Build therapeutic relationships with young people and families
- Encourage shared decision-making and person-centred care

Essential Professional Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (RNMH or RNLD; CAMHS nurses considered)
- At least 18 months post-qualification experience, including completion of preceptorship/competency framework
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Practice supervisor/assessor qualification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Clinical supervision training (or willingness to complete)

Safeguarding & Background Checks
This position involves direct work with vulnerable children and young people. Appointment is subject to enhanced vetting through the Disclosure and Barring Service in accordance with safeguarding legislation.
