About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly, close-knit practice in Withington. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified GP or early-career doctor looking to develop within a supportive, well-established training practice.
You will work 4 sessions per week under the BMA model contract, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Our practice is CQC rated “Good” and places strong emphasis on teamwork, learning, and continuity of care.
The Practice
Withington Medical Practice serves a population of approximately 5,500 patients and benefits from a welcoming and supportive working culture.
Our team includes:
- 1 GP Partner
- 1 Salaried GP
- 1 Physician Associate
- Pharmacy Technician
- Practice Manager
- 4 experienced Administrators
We are part of an active Primary Care Network (PCN), sharing expertise, resources, and best practice with neighbouring practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
In line with the GMS contract and PCN agreements, your role will include a balanced mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities:
- Face-to-face and telephone consultations
- Home visits when clinically required
- Duty doctor and triage sessions (shared rota)
- Reviewing, signing, and managing prescriptions
- Processing test results, referrals, and correspondence
- Maintaining accurate, timely clinical records
- Managing long-term conditions using evidence-based care
- Supporting continuity of care for vulnerable patients
Wider Responsibilities
As part of the practice team, you will also:
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement
- Participate in significant event reviews and learning processes
- Support ARRS staff and the wider MDT
- Assist with QOF delivery and agreed clinical lead areas
- Attend and contribute to practice meetings
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate medical training
- Maintain appraisal, revalidation, and CPD requirements
- Work collaboratively to support practice sustainability and development
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Experience working in UK General Practice
- Within 2 years of CCT at the start of the ARRS role
- Experience working with vulnerable patient groups
Desirable Experience
- Interest or experience in elderly care / frailty
- Experience in LGBTQ+ health
- Involvement in service development or quality improvement
Qualifications & Registration
Essential
- Fully qualified General Practitioner
- Current GMC registration with licence to practise
- Inclusion on a UK Performers List
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship considered)
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidance and policies
Desirable
- Familiarity with EMIS Web
- Leadership, mentoring, or educational interests
