Role Summary
Medivet is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Area Veterinary Surgeon to support a group of practices across the Chelmsford region. This is a varied and rewarding role that blends hands-on clinical work with leadership, mentoring, and strategic oversight.
You’ll play a key role in shaping clinical standards across multiple sites, supporting veterinary teams to deliver consistently high-quality patient care. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys guiding others, influencing best practice, and contributing to the long-term success of a growing veterinary community.
Your Impact
As an Area Vet, you will act as a trusted clinical resource across your cluster. You’ll provide guidance, mentorship and practical support to vets and nurses, helping teams grow in confidence, capability and compliance.
You’ll also contribute to training, clinical governance and continuous improvement, ensuring every practice operates to the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent clinical care through consultations and surgery when required
- Support and mentor veterinary surgeons and nursing teams across multiple practices
- Promote best practice, clinical governance and regulatory compliance
- Assist with training delivery, CPD support and skills development
- Collaborate with practice and regional leadership to maintain consistent standards
- Build strong working relationships across your cluster to encourage collaboration
About You
You’ll be:
- A qualified Veterinary Surgeon, registered with the RCVS
- Confident working independently while supporting others in a leadership capacity
- Organised, approachable and comfortable managing varied priorities
- Passionate about clinical excellence, patient welfare and client communication
- Motivated to influence and improve standards across more than one practice
