The Opportunity
Medivet Hendon is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic and Advanced Soft Tissue Veterinary Surgeon to join its highly skilled surgical team within a busy, modern 24-hour hospital. This role is ideal for a confident surgeon who is ready to take ownership of a complex caseload and further establish themselves within a referral-level environment.
Hendon is more than a first-opinion hospital — it operates as a regional hub and referral centre, providing exposure to challenging and varied cases that allow surgeons to practise at an advanced clinical level. You’ll be working alongside an exceptional team, including an additional Orthopaedic/Advanced Soft Tissue Surgeon and two experienced Soft Tissue Surgeons, all within a collaborative and supportive culture.
Clinical Environment & Facilities
The hospital is fully equipped to support advanced diagnostics and surgical procedures, enabling you to deliver gold-standard care. Facilities include:
- TPLO and advanced orthopaedic surgical kits
- Spinal surgery equipment
- Arthroscopy and laparoscopy
- Endoscopy
- CT and MRI imaging
This environment allows you to focus on clinical decision-making and surgical excellence without compromise.
Your Role
This position is particularly well suited to a certificate holder (or equivalent experience) who is keen to lead, mentor, and influence clinical standards. As part of a 12-vet team, including two Branch Partners with medicine certificates, you’ll play a key role in shaping the hospital’s surgical services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and leading advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical cases
- Delivering high-quality patient care in line with professional and regulatory standards
- Developing clear, compassionate treatment plans in partnership with clients
- Working closely with referral clinicians, nurses, and support teams
- Sharing expertise and contributing to the wider Medivet clinical community

Working Pattern
- 4 days per week, full-time
- 1 in 6 weekends
- Fixed day off each week
