About the Role

Medivet Quarrington is looking for a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in small animal surgery. This role is ideal for someone who already holds, or is actively working towards, a CertAVP in Small Animal Surgery and is keen to further develop advanced surgical skills.

You’ll play a leading role in case planning, complex procedures, and peri-operative care, while working within a supportive, experienced clinical team that values collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Practice

Medivet Quarrington is a well-established, purpose-built practice with a loyal client base and a varied caseload. The facilities are designed to support high-quality clinical work and include:

  • Five modern consulting rooms
  • Separate dog and cat wards
  • Fully equipped operating theatres

Advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment including:

  • ECG
  • Orthopaedic tools
  • Digital and dental X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • The practice is also a training site for both nurses and vets, creating a learning-focused and forward-thinking environment.

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours across 4 days per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays (08:30 – 14:30)
  • Part-time working considered – flexible arrangements welcomed
  • We understand that work-life balance matters and are open to shaping the rota around the right candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care in both consultations and surgery
  • Lead and support advanced surgical cases
  • Develop clear, tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients
  • Ensure excellent standards of patient safety and clinical governance
  • Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, and support staff
  • Share your expertise and contribute to the wider Medivet clinical community

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be:

  • A qualified MRCVS
  • Passionate about clinical excellence and patient care
  • Confident in surgery or progressing toward advanced surgical practice
  • A supportive team player who enjoys mentoring and collaboration
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional development
