The Opportunity

Medivet Quarrington is welcoming a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in small animal surgery. This role is ideal for someone who already holds, or is actively working towards, a CertAVP in Small Animal Surgery and wants the space, support, and case-load to further refine advanced surgical skills.

You’ll play a key role in surgical case planning, peri-operative care, and clinical leadership, while being part of a genuinely supportive and experienced practice team.

About the Practice

This is a well-established, purpose-built practice with a loyal client base and an excellent local reputation. The environment has been designed to support high clinical standards and calm patient care, including:

  • Five modern consulting rooms
  • Separate dog and cat wards
  • Fully equipped operating theatres
  • Advanced diagnostics and surgical tools (ECG, orthopaedic equipment, digital & dental X-ray, ultrasound)

The practice also serves as a training site for veterinary nurses and vets, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys mentoring and collaborative learning.

Your Role

In this position, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care in both consultations and surgery
  • Lead on complex surgical cases and contribute to treatment planning
  • Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication and compassionate care
  • Work closely with a skilled, multidisciplinary team
  • Share expertise and support the wider Medivet clinical community

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be:

  • A qualified MRCVS
  • Passionate about clinical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Confident working with a varied and busy caseload
  • A supportive team player who enjoys knowledge-sharing
  • Committed to high standards of patient welfare and client care

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours across 4 days per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
  • Part-time applications welcomed – flexibility matters to us
