About the Opportunity
Providence Medical Group–Walla Walla is seeking a full-time Nocturnist to join a well-established and highly collaborative hospitalist team serving a close-knit community. This role is ideal for an Internal Medicine–trained physician who is confident managing open ICU patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, and who values predictable scheduling, teamwork, and meaningful patient care.
You will work closely with St. Mary Medical Center and benefit from strong interdisciplinary relationships with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation teams, and specialty consultants. Tele–Critical Care support is available, providing additional clinical backup overnight.
Schedule & Work Model
- 168 night shifts annually
- Standard rotation of 14 nights on / 14 nights off (schedule flexibility may be considered)
- Inpatient care only – no call responsibilities
- Consistent overnight schedule supporting long-term work–life balance
Clinical Scope
- Comprehensive inpatient medical care
- Management of open ICU patients
- Ongoing care of ventilated patients (recent experience required)
- Collaboration with tele–critical care services
- Practice within a supportive community hospital environment
Candidate Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO with Internal Medicine training
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine
- Demonstrated ICU and ventilator management experience within the past two years
- Comfort practicing independently overnight in an open ICU setting
- Eligibility for Washington State medical licensure
Preferred
- Prior experience in a community hospital setting
- New graduates with strong ICU exposure during residency are encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits
Annual compensation range: $295,021 – $377,352
(Total compensation may include productivity incentives, quality metrics, or additional shift pay, in accordance with organizational policies.)
