About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, you will prioritise kindness in all aspects of your work. It covers all aspects of our dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist care homes. For you, this will entail planning and administering care that will provide our seniors with a true sense of security, dignity, and independence. You’ll get to know our residents and their families, which will enable us provide truly tailored care. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of care and will have a significant impact on the rest of the team. Whether you’re teaching someone how to use a walking frame, assisting someone at the end of their life with a meal, or speaking with a resident’s family over the phone, you’ll do so with kindness first and foremost. Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, you will provide necessary physical and mental stimulation through a variety of social and recreational activities, as well as provide medication.

One of your primary obligations as a Senior Care Assistant is to keep accurate records of your work and foster excellent relationships with the rest of your team.

About You

Ideally, you’ll have a S/NVQ 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, experience with person-centered care planning, and expertise of caring for persons with dementia. What matters most, however, is your great good energy and natural ability to get along with others. You’ll understand what good record keeping looks like and be able to manage your time efficiently. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or coworker, you will be considerate and respectful.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, so you should be able to detect the indications of potential abuse, harm, or neglect in its various forms and know what to do if you have any concerns. All colleagues are obliged to undergo safeguarding training that is relevant for their work, as well as supplementary training in related areas. You can also seek appropriate guidance and report issues, which may result in escalation if action is not taken.
