Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior Charge Nurse in the Clinical Assessment Unit
Are you a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse ready to step into a leadership role? We’re thrilled to offer a position for a Senior Charge Nurse within our vibrant multidisciplinary team at NHS Forth Valley’s Clinical Assessment Unit. This role calls for someone who’s energetic, compassionate, and committed to excellence in patient care. You’ll need strong skills in building relationships, communicating effectively, and managing priorities, along with a genuine enthusiasm for continuous professional growth—backed by clear examples from your career.
In this position, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our fast-paced assessment unit, contributing ideas and expertise to its ongoing evolution. We seek a proven expert in acute nursing who can guide the team with clinical leadership, offering specialized guidance, mentoring, and training opportunities. You’ll also take charge of monitoring practices through audits and surveillance, while assisting the Lead Nurse in implementing the principles of Leading Better Care.
This is a pivotal moment to become part of our CAU senior leadership, as we adapt our acute care services to better serve the Forth Valley community and deliver top-tier urgent and unscheduled care. Flexibility is crucial, as you’ll need to adapt to shifting demands and service needs.
To thrive here, you should hold or be pursuing a degree-level qualification, coupled with substantial experience in a senior capacity within an acute environment.
Please note that this role requires membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme to ensure the safety of those we serve. For details on how this works, visit the official site at Disclosure Scotland.

Starting April 1, 2026, the standard Agenda for Change full-time hours will drop from 37 to 36 per week, with part-time roles adjusted accordingly. Rest assured, hourly rates will rise to keep overall pay unchanged.
