Role Overview
This is a great opportunity to join a welcoming front-of-house team within a community mental health setting. Based at Alexander House, you will act as the first point of contact for service users, carers, healthcare professionals, and visitors.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and is committed to delivering a high standard of customer service. While healthcare experience is helpful, your attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are just as important.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcome and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner
Answer and manage telephone enquiries clearly and efficiently
Handle incoming and outgoing post
Book rooms, taxis, and patient transport when required
Order office supplies and manage basic stock
Support prescription handling and petty cash processes
Log maintenance or estates issues
Arrange collection of clinical samples (e.g., pathology)
Update clinic schedules and maintain accurate records
Enter and manage data on internal systems
Ensure reception displays and information are up to date
You’ll also play an important role in maintaining a calm, respectful environment, particularly for individuals accessing mental health services.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience), or willingness to work towards Level 3 in Business Administration
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
Experience:
- Previous customer service experience
Experience with general office or administrative tasks
Confidence in data entry and record keeping
Skills:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Good attention to detail
Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
