We are looking for a Ward Receptionist who can bring warmth, efficiency, and reassurance to patients, families, and clinical staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced setting and takes pride in being a key part of a healthcare team.
About the Role
As the ward receptionist, you will act as the central point of contact for the ward, supporting both clinical staff and visitors. Your role ensures that daily operations run smoothly and that patients feel welcomed and informed throughout their care journey.
You will be based on a busy Trauma, Orthopaedic and Surgical ward, where no two days are the same.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will play an important role in supporting patient flow and communication by:
- Acting as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors
Coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
Maintaining accurate patient records and updating hospital systems (PAS)
Supporting clinicians with timely and accurate administrative information
Booking follow-up appointments and arranging patient transport
Providing a calm and supportive presence on the ward
Ensuring communication between teams runs smoothly
Your work will directly support safe, timely, and effective patient care.
