Pharmacy Assistant – Pre-Packing Unit(UK Visa Sponsorship)

Job Description

Play a Key Role Behind the Scenes in Patient Safety

Not every healthcare role involves direct patient contact—but many are just as critical. This position is essential to ensuring that medicines are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently for use across the healthcare system.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Pre-Packing Operative to join our Pharmacy team. If you enjoy structured work, value precision, and want to be part of a team that supports patient care indirectly, this could be the right fit for you.

About the Role

You’ll be working within a specialised Pre-Packing Unit that operates under an MHRA Specials Licence, allowing the team to prepare and label medicines in bulk for both internal hospital use and external customers.

This is a highly regulated environment where accuracy, organisation, and consistency are essential.

Please note: This is not a dispensing role, and there is no direct patient interaction.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will support the safe handling and preparation of medicines:

  • Receiving and checking incoming pharmaceutical stock
Organising and storing medicines safely and correctly
    Packing and over-labelling medication batches
Ensuring all items meet strict quality and regulatory standards
Preparing orders for distribution to departments and external clients

Your work will directly contribute to the safe supply of medicines across the Trust.

Working Environment

You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
    Consistency in following procedures
    Strong teamwork and communication
Maintaining high safety and quality standards

This role offers stability and the opportunity to build experience in a professional, regulated healthcare setting.

About the Trust

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves over 420,000 people across Nottinghamshire and surrounding regions.

The Trust is known for:

  • Being rated ‘Outstanding’ for care by the Care Quality Commission
High staff satisfaction and a supportive workplace culture
A strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Their focus is simple: deliver care with the same compassion and respect as you would for your own family.

Some roles may be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, depending on national guidance and job classification.

Before applying, please review the following official UK government resources:

Why Join This Role?
