About the Opportunity

The role sits within the Mrsic-Flogel Lab, a collaborative and forward-thinking team focused on how the brain makes decisions in uncertain situations. Their work contributes to some of the most important questions in modern neuroscience.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll support in vivo experiments involving mice, helping generate high-quality behavioural and physiological data. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with laboratory-based neuroscience experiments
Handling and monitoring rodents in line with ethical and welfare standards
Supporting post-operative care and ensuring animal wellbeing
Collecting, organising, and preparing experimental data
Working closely with researchers to maintain smooth lab operations
Contributing to accurate and reproducible scientific outcomes
All work must align with UK animal research regulations
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who enjoys hands-on scientific work and takes pride in precision and organisation. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
Practical experience handling rodents
Understanding of animal care and monitoring procedures
Basic programming or data-handling skills
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Knowledge of ethical research practices and compliance with UK standards
