We are looking for a Clinical Specialist Nurse (CSN/ANP) to join our established Memory Services team. This is a full-time role working across community-based settings, where person-centred care, collaboration, and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.
You will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality dementia care while supporting patients, families, and carers within their own communities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Act as a clinical and professional lead for nursing within memory services
Deliver holistic, evidence-based assessments and interventions for older adults with memory difficulties
Build strong partnerships with GPs, social care, and voluntary organisations
Support and guide colleagues through clinical supervision, training, and mentorship
Lead and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
Promote awareness of dementia, including prevention and early recognition within local communities
Manage complex clinical situations using sound judgement and positive risk-taking approaches
You will also be supported to expand your role, including training in nurse-led diagnosis and prescribing, if not already qualified.
Where You’ll Work
This role spans three community sites:
- Cross Lane Hospital (Scarborough)
Princess Road Clinic (Malton)
The Anchorage (Whitby)
Your main base will be the location closest to your home, with travel reimbursement for additional journeys.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)
Practice Assessor/Supervisor qualification (or working towards)
Postgraduate diploma (or willingness to achieve within 2 years)
Commitment to obtaining an advanced clinical qualification or therapy accreditation
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of dementia care and mental health in older adults
Knowledge of key legislation including:
- Mental Health Act
Mental Capacity Act
Experience in safeguarding and clinical risk management
Familiarity with medicines management and psychological care approaches
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Experience Required
- Significant experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs
Experience managing patients presenting with risk behaviours
Proven ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
Involvement in service improvement or quality initiatives
Additional Requirements
- This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
