About the Opportunity

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Fellow to contribute to a major clinical trial focused on Parkinson’s disease. This role sits within a highly regarded neuroscience research environment, bringing together clinical insight and cutting-edge scientific investigation.

You will join a collaborative team working across specialist centres dedicated to understanding and treating movement disorders. The position is linked to the ASPro-PD trial, a major study investigating the potential of Ambroxol to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease.

This role offers not only hands-on clinical research experience but also the possibility of pursuing a part-time PhD, allowing you to further develop your academic career alongside clinical responsibilities.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting clinical trial delivery and patient engagement. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting clinical assessments using validated tools such as MDS-UPDRS
Supporting participant recruitment, screening, and follow-up
Assisting patients in completing study questionnaires
Monitoring and documenting adverse events throughout the trial
Providing clinical input and support to the wider trial team when required
Collaborating closely with the clinical trials unit and principal investigators

You will be working within a multidisciplinary environment, interacting with clinicians, researchers, and trial coordinators to ensure high-quality research delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should bring both clinical expertise and a strong interest in research. Essential criteria include:

A medical degree with full registration and licence to practise in the UK
Completion of MRCP (or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification)
Experience in clinical research or clinical trials
Interest in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease
Experience using clinical assessment tools and patient questionnaires
Strong communication skills, including patient interaction and presentations

Experience with neurological assessment scales such as MDS-UPDRS will be particularly valuable.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is offered in the range of £51,140 – £78,670 per annum, depending on clinical experience and training level.
