What You’ll Do
This role combines teaching, research, and academic service. You will:
Deliver engaging teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes
Develop and contribute to modules in Criminal Law
Produce high-quality research aligned with REF standards (3* and 4*)
Support curriculum development and enhance the student learning experience
Take part in academic administration and departmental initiatives
Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students
Contribute to the wider academic life of the School
About You
We’re looking for a committed academic who is passionate about both research and teaching.
You should have:
A degree in Law or a closely related discipline
A PhD (completed or close to completion)
A developing or established record of research publications
Specialist expertise in Criminal Law
The ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and administrative abilities
A collaborative and flexible approach to teamwork
It would also be beneficial if you have:
Experience teaching in higher education
Involvement in academic administration or student support
A clear and realistic five-year research plan
An interest in contributing to curriculum innovation
