About the Role
The School of Law at the University of Reading is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Property Law to strengthen its academic team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a research-driven and internationally engaged academic environment, where both teaching excellence and impactful research are highly valued.
As part of this role, you will contribute to the School’s teaching programmes while developing your own research profile. You will also play an active role in enhancing the student experience and contributing to the broader academic life of the School.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality teaching in Property Law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Developing and maintaining a strong programme of research aligned with REF standards
Supporting curriculum design and innovation
Engaging in student support, supervision, and mentoring
Contributing to academic administration and collaborative initiatives within the School
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable academic with expertise in Property Law and a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.
You will ideally have:
A degree in Law or a related discipline
A PhD (completed or near completion)
A developing or established record of research outputs
Specialist knowledge in Property Law
Experience or strong potential in teaching at university level
You will also demonstrate:
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines
A proactive approach to curriculum development and student engagement
A clear and achievable five-year research plan
Experience in academic administration, pastoral support, or broader contributions to university life would be beneficial.
