About the Role

This is a key leadership position within the University of Sussex Business School, offering the opportunity to shape and enhance the delivery of education services. As Senior Education Manager, you will lead a team of professional services staff, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous development of education-related activities.

Working closely with senior academic leaders—including the Associate Deans for Education & Students and Global & Civic Engagement—you will help drive forward strategic priorities across a diverse and evolving portfolio. This includes supporting new income-generating initiatives, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and improving operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and developing a high-performing professional services team
Supporting strategic planning and delivery across education portfolios
Managing complex programme operations and administrative processes
Interpreting and presenting data to inform decision-making
Representing the Business School at senior meetings and committees
Supporting accreditation processes, including ambitions for triple crown accreditation

This is a highly visible role requiring strong leadership, adaptability, and the ability to navigate a complex higher education environment.

About You

You will be an experienced higher education professional with a strong track record in academic administration and programme management.

You should bring:

In-depth knowledge of higher education systems, policies, and governance
Experience managing teams and leading operational delivery
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
The ability to analyse data and translate insights into action

Experience within a Business School environment or familiarity with accreditation frameworks (such as programme review and external quality standards) would be advantageous.

A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to enhancing the student experience will be essential for success in this role.
