Job Description
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join cutting-edge research linked to the Simons Observatory (SO), one of the leading global efforts in cosmology. The role focuses on theoretical and data-driven work in Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) science, including:
CMB lensing analysis
Power spectrum estimation
Likelihood modelling
Cosmological parameter inference
You will work closely with a locally based research group led by Antony Lewis, while also collaborating with the wider international Simons Observatory team. Alongside collaborative work, you will be encouraged to develop and pursue your own independent research ideas.
About You
We are looking for a motivated researcher with strong expertise in cosmology and data analysis. You should have:
A PhD in a relevant field (e.g., cosmology, astrophysics, or physics)
Proven experience in CMB data analysis
Strong computational and numerical skills
Experience in areas such as CMB lensing or related cosmological techniques
Previous involvement in major collaborations such as the Simons Observatory or similar experiments would be an advantage, but is not essential.
