Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two motivated individuals to join the Occupational Therapy team at the Western General Hospital. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life following illness or injury.

Working closely with qualified Occupational Therapists, you will contribute to patient rehabilitation across a variety of clinical areas, including acute medicine, surgery, critical care, and infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support the delivery of rehabilitation programmes tailored to individual patient needs
    Assist patients in improving mobility, independence, and daily living skills
    Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care
    Carry out delegated clinical and non-clinical tasks efficiently
    Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative duties
    Contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-centred environment

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday, with rotational weekend shifts
    Participation in bank holiday cover may be required

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience supporting rehabilitation or functional recovery programmes
    Understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy in hospital settings
    Ability to work effectively within a team and follow clinical guidance
    Good organisational and communication skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience in an acute hospital ward
    Background in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or healthcare support roles
