Role Summary
This permanent teaching-focused position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to political science education within a globally respected academic environment. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering and shaping teaching programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The position is ideal for academics passionate about teaching and research-led education, particularly in areas related to governance, political economy, and regional political systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deliver, and coordinate teaching modules in Politics
Assess student work and provide constructive academic feedback
Contribute to curriculum development and programme planning
Engage in academic administration and departmental activities
Support student learning and academic progression
Participate in collaborative teaching initiatives across disciplines
Areas of Academic Focus
Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Governance and political systems
Political economy
Public and social policy
Corruption, clientelism, and state capture
Energy and environmental politics
Security and international relations
Politics of technology and innovation
Candidate Profile
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Essential Qualifications
A PhD in Politics or a closely related discipline (completed by the start date)
Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of social science research methodologies
Experience with quantitative or mixed research methods is highly desirable
Demonstrated regional expertise in Central, Eastern, or South-Eastern Europe, or related regions
Ability to teach and conduct research in at least one relevant regional language
Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching in higher education
