Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Hotel Services team as a Housekeeper within a specialist mental health and learning disability Trust. The role is focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports patient recovery and wellbeing.
You will play a vital part in ensuring high standards of cleanliness and food service across patient, staff, and communal areas, contributing directly to a positive care experience.
 Key Responsibilities
As a Housekeeper, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Cleaning clinical, office, and shared spaces to a high standard
- Supporting basic catering and food service tasks
- Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Carrying out deep-cleaning procedures when required
- Maintaining hygiene standards in line with infection control policies
- Supporting a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Responding flexibly to service needs, including additional shifts when required
 Working Pattern
- Hours: 24 hours per week (part-time)
- Shifts: Between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Days: Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays

 Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy (GCSE equivalent)
- IT skills equivalent to Level 2
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (or willingness to achieve within 12 months)
Experience
- Practical experience in cleaning duties
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and materials
- Experience (paid or voluntary) in mental health or learning disability settings
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of health & safety and COSHH regulations
- Awareness of infection prevention and cleaning standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to follow procedures and prioritise tasks
 Desirable Criteria
- NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping
- Experience working in a hospital environment
- Knowledge of national cleanliness standards and PLACE assessments
