About the Opportunity

Medivet Maidenbower is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). This role offers the chance to work in a well-established practice that values clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassionate animal care.

Located in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, the practice is surrounded by woodland and natural landscapes, creating a calm and inspiring environment for both staff and clients. With the South Downs National Park, the Jurassic coastline, and Gatwick Airport all within easy reach, the area offers an excellent balance between professional life and leisure activities. The practice is also well connected to major cities including London and Brighton, making commuting and travel convenient.

Our Practice

Medivet Maidenbower has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality veterinary care and exceptional client service. Our modern, purpose-built facility is equipped with advanced clinical technology to support efficient workflows and excellent patient outcomes.

You will work alongside a friendly and experienced team, including:

  • Four receptionists
  • Two full-time veterinary nurses
  • Four part-time nurses
  • An experienced veterinary surgeon providing clinical and surgical support

This collaborative environment ensures you always have support available, particularly during surgical procedures and complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care during consultations and surgical procedures
  • Assess and diagnose patient conditions and develop tailored treatment plans
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding treatment options and care plans
  • Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory and professional compliance
  • Contribute to the wider Medivet clinical community through knowledge sharing and collaboration

What We Are Looking For

We are interested in hearing from candidates who:

  • Are a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Have at least two years of clinical experience in veterinary practice
  • Demonstrate strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive and collaborative team
  • Are committed to providing exceptional standards of animal care
  • Experience in orthopaedic procedures, including TPLO surgery, would be an advantage but is not essential.
