About the Role
Skills Provision Ltd is seeking a motivated Drainage Engineer to join an expanding environmental services company in London. The company specialises in environmental management and civil drainage projects and is known for its professional, safety-focused approach.
This role is ideal for both UK-based and international candidates, with Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship available for eligible applicants.
Key Responsibilities
The Drainage Engineer will perform a variety of duties including:
- Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across commercial and private sites
- Excavating and installing drainage pipelines, manholes, and related infrastructure
- Operating jetting equipment and other specialist tools to clear blockages
- Driving light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) safely between sites
- Performing minor pest control tasks related to drainage systems
- Participating in on-the-job training for specialised procedures
- Ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company and legislative standards
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills & Attributes:
- Previous experience in drainage, construction, or handyman work is advantageous but not mandatory
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging environments
- Full UK driving license or international equivalent (support available for conversion if required)
- Experience driving light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
Additional Requirements for International Applicants:
Applicants from outside the UK must comply with Skilled Worker Visa requirements:
- Proof of English language proficiency (gov.uk English language requirements)
- Eligibility for the Skilled Worker visa (gov.uk Skilled Worker visa)
- Immigration checks and a clear history of legal residence (gov.uk visa guidance)
- Understanding health requirements including Tuberculosis (TB) testing for some countries (gov.uk TB testing)
- Verification of right to work in the UK (gov.uk working in the UK)
Working Hours
- Minimum of 48 hours per week
- Flexible overtime opportunities based on project requirements
Salary & Benefits
- £15.47 – £18.61 per hour, dependent on experience
- Full-time permanent contract
- 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
