Role Overview

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a motivated Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist to join the Community Nursing Services within our Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) team. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with General Practice and Community Nursing Teams, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care across the region.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently, while also collaborating effectively within a team. You will assist patients with essential care, including phlebotomy and blood pressure monitoring, and contribute to the smooth operation of community-based health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures safely and efficiently under delegated authority.
  • Monitor patient blood pressure and other routine observations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, supporting effective communication within the team.
  • Work closely with the Community Nursing Teams and General Practices, providing hands-on patient care.
  • Travel across the service area to deliver care in community settings.
  • Participate in training and development to expand knowledge and clinical skills.

  • Willingness to travel throughout NHS Forth Valley service areas.
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills, supported by NHS training.

Desirable Skills:

  • Basic IT competency for electronic patient records and appointment management.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, phlebotomy, or community setting.
