Are you a motivated and organised Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) seeking an acute inpatient role? Join the Adult SLT team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) for a 12-month maternity cover opportunity. You will provide specialist care for patients with communication disorders and dysphagia across multiple wards, contributing to improved patient outcomes and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and manage SLT inpatients across a variety of wards at two hospital sites.
- Support the Clinical Team Lead in operational management of the inpatient SLT service.
- Provide training and education to the wider MDT and supervise SLT students.
- Participate in service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic systems and uphold data confidentiality.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- BSc/MSc in Speech & Language Therapy
- Valid HCPC registration
Membership of RCSLT
- Dysphagia competencies and evidence of ongoing CPD
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in adult dysphagia and communication disorders
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly, work independently, and manage a varied caseload
Desirable Skills:
- Leadership/management or mentorship experience
- Head & Neck or Tracheostomy competencies
- Experience supervising SLT students and coordinating services across multiple sites
Personal Attributes:
- Strong MDT collaboration and clinical decision-making
- Organisational and time-management skills with flexibility to meet service needs
- Demonstrated ability to support staff development and service improvement

- Eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship where criteria are met
