About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking General Practitioner to join our close-knit and supportive team. This ARRS-funded position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where patient-centred care, professional development, and innovation in primary care are central to everything we do.

As a salaried GP, you will contribute to high-quality clinical services for our 5,500 registered patients while supporting the continued growth and development of our practice and Primary Care Network (PCN).

About Our Practice

We are a small, friendly training practice based in Withington, Manchester. Our multidisciplinary team includes:

  • 1 GP Partner
  • 1 Salaried GP
  • 1 Physician Associate
  • 1 Pharmacy Technician
  • 1 Practice Manager
  • 4 Administrators

We work closely with our PCN colleagues and maintain strong professional relationships built on shared learning and continuous improvement. Our Care Quality Commission rating is Good 

What You’ll Be Doing

Clinical Responsibilities

You will provide comprehensive primary care services in line with the General Medical Services (GMS) Contract

 Your work will include:

  • Face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Home visits where clinically appropriate
  • Duty doctor sessions on a shared rota
  • Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Reviewing pathology results and managing follow-up
  • Timely completion of referrals, reports, and correspondence
  • Managing long-term conditions in line with evidence-based guidelines
  • Generic prescribing aligned with national and local guidance

You will also play an active role in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and significant event reviews using structured approaches such as root cause analysis.

  • Support and supervise ARRS staff
  • Contribute to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) areas
  • Participate in clinical governance and practice meetings
  • Support medical student education and multidisciplinary learning

Professional Development

  • Participate fully in annual appraisal and revalidation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Inclusion on a CCG/ICB Performers List
  • Within two years of Completion of Training (ARRS eligibility requirement)
  • Experience working in UK General Practice
  • Experience supporting vulnerable patient groups
  • Clear enhanced DBS check
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and reflective learning

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in elderly care or frailty management
  • Experience in LGBTQ+ health
  • Familiarity with EMIS Web (Optum)
  • Leadership, mentoring, or service development experience
  • Experience in quality improvement projects
