A clean and welcoming space can make a meaningful difference to someone’s recovery. As a Housekeeper within our Hotel Services Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food service across patient, office and communal areas.
This is more than a cleaning role it’s about contributing to a caring, therapeutic environment where patients feel respected, safe and supported.

Your Contribution
As part of the Hotel Services Team, you will:
Cleaning & Infection Control
- Deliver high standards of routine and deep cleaning in clinical and non-clinical areas
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment, including motorised machinery
- Follow COSHH and Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain compliance with National Standards of Cleanliness and PLACE requirements
Catering & Food Service
- Support safe preparation and serving of food
- Use kitchen and regeneration equipment appropriately
- Maintain food hygiene standards at all times
Teamwork & Patient Interaction
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate respectfully with patients, visitors and colleagues
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism and confidentiality
- Apply breakaway techniques where required (training provided)
- You may also be offered additional hours at short notice, so flexibility is important.
Essential Requirements
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (or willingness to complete within 12 months)
- Numeracy, Literacy and IT skills at Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9–4 / A*–C)
- Experience using cleaning materials and equipment
- Previous experience or volunteering within a mental health or learning disability setting
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH and infection control standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping
- Experience cleaning in a hospital setting

Induction & Training
Successful candidates will complete a structured 5-day induction programme before starting. Ongoing development and mandatory training will be provided to ensure safe and effective practice.
