About the Opportunity

The HIV and Sexual Health research team at the Brighton and Sussex Centre for Global Health Research is seeking a passionate and skilled Research Fellow to join its vibrant multidisciplinary group. This role offers hands-on involvement in clinical studies focused on people living with HIV — encompassing both data collection and analytical work.

You will work collaboratively with clinicians, researchers and NHS partners to generate high-quality evidence that contributes to improving care and outcomes for people affected by HIV.

What You Will Be Doing

You will:

  • Lead and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research activities within ongoing clinical studies.
  • Manage participant recruitment and engagement in NHS clinical environments.
  • Work closely with colleagues in multidisciplinary settings to ensure rigorous research processes.
  • Prepare reports, publications and presentations to share findings with academic and policy audiences.
  • Engage with partners in the HIV research, service and advocacy sectors.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

A PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant area such as public health, global health or related disciplines.
Demonstrated skills in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Experience recruiting participants in healthcare settings, especially within the NHS.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate clearly with both academic and clinical teams.
A genuine interest in HIV research and community-centred practice.
Experience in HIV advocacy, community engagement or related support work is highly desirable.
