Advanced Nurse Practitioner Visa Sponsorship UK

Uk
February 18, 2026
£51 - £59 / year

Job Description

We are excited to offer a rewarding position within the Acute Services team at NHS Forth Valley for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) specialising in Acute Medicine and Hospital at Night.

This dynamic role suits a dedicated, experienced nurse ready to take on significant responsibility in a fast-paced acute care setting. We particularly welcome applications from qualified and competent ANPs. However, we also encourage suitably experienced nurses with strong academic foundations to apply for our trainee ANP pathway (under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions). This provides a supported route to full advanced practice while developing in the role.

In this position, you’ll deliver expert care to acutely unwell patients, working closely with senior medical colleagues to assess, diagnose, and manage cases effectively. You’ll draw on deep clinical expertise, sharp decision-making abilities, and proven experience at a senior or advanced level in acute medicine and/or hospital night services.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Managing shifting priorities and workloads while staying calm and adaptable in a high-pressure environment.
  • Contributing to the advanced practice team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH).
  • Rotating across key areas: Hospital at Night, Acute Medical Admissions, and the Rapid Assessment and Care Unit.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
To thrive here, you should hold or be working towards:

  • Non-medical prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) and current NMC registration.
  • An accredited Advanced Clinical Examination course, ideally at SCQF Level 11 (Masters level).
  • A valid UK-accredited Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider certificate.
  • Masters-level study (completed or in progress).
  • Relevant training in decision-making for the acutely unwell adult (e.g., Recognition and Management of the Acutely Unwell Adult).

Candidates with some or all of these qualifications will be prioritised, but we are open to supporting development where needed.

Training Pathway Information
This vacancy may be offered as a trainee position under Annex 21 arrangements, which outline pay and banding for staff in training roles. For full details, see the official NHS Employers guidance on Annex 21 – Arrangements for pay and banding of trainees (focus on sections relevant to trainee advanced practitioners, such as 2(iii) and 3).

Working Hours and Pay Update
From 1 April 2026, the standard full-time working week for Agenda for Change staff in NHS Scotland reduces from 37 to 36 hours (pro-rata for part-time roles), with no reduction in pay—an hourly rate adjustment ensures take-home pay remains the same or improves slightly. This supports better work-life balance for our teams.

International Applicants and Sponsorship

If you require a visa to work in the UK, we may offer sponsorship under the appropriate route (such as the Skilled Worker visa or Health and Care Worker visa), depending on the role meeting salary thresholds and other criteria. Sponsorship is considered individually after interview and during pre-employment checks—it’s not guaranteed.

For visa eligibility details, review the UK Government’s guidance:

International candidates applying for UK health and social care positions should also consult official advice on the application process and requirements.
