About the Opportunity

University of Reading is inviting applications for Lecturers in Psychology to join a collaborative, research-driven academic community within the School of Psychology & Clinical Language Sciences.

This role combines research excellence with student-centred teaching. You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, supervise research projects, and develop a strong research agenda that builds on the School’s upward trajectory in national research assessment. The School encourages interdisciplinary thinking and values innovative methods that connect psychological science with real-world challenges.

Areas of Academic Focus

We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise aligns with one or more of the following:

  • Health psychology
  • Developmental psychopathology
  • Environmental sustainability and behaviour
  • Forensic or criminal psychology
  • Interdisciplinary neuroscience approaches

Researchers using advanced neuroimaging or brain stimulation methods may benefit from the School’s specialist facilities, including work associated with
Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics
and the clinically focused
Anxiety and Depression in Young People Research Clinic.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, research-led teaching across psychology programmes
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
