About the Role
University of Reading is seeking an accomplished academic to join the ICMA Centre as an Associate Professor in Finance. This position is ideal for an educator-scholar who is passionate about delivering high-quality finance education while contributing to departmental leadership, academic citizenship, and curriculum development.
You will teach across undergraduate and pre-experience master’s programmes, support module administration, and engage in scholarly activity aligned with the School’s mission. The ICMA Centre sits within the Department of Finance and Accounting, a collaborative academic environment combining strong industry links with research-informed teaching.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Deliver teaching across core finance subjects using innovative, student-centred approaches
- Contribute to curriculum design, assessment and module leadership
- Support academic administration and departmental initiatives
- Participate in academic leadership and collegial activities
- Maintain scholarship that informs teaching and student engagement
Teaching strengths in areas such as Econometrics, Fixed Income Markets, Alternative Investments, Derivatives, Investments, or Quantitative Finance would be particularly valuable.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A PhD in Finance or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience teaching finance in English within a UK higher education environment
- A strong commitment to academic quality and student success
- Professional maturity suited to leadership and collaborative academic work
