Job Description

Medivet Hendon is seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic / Soft Tissue Surgical Vet to join our advanced surgical team in a busy 24-hour hospital and referral centre. This is an exceptional opportunity for a surgery certificate holder (or above) to take control of their caseload, lead by example, and contribute to cutting-edge surgical practice.

About the Hospital

  • Our Hendon site is a flagship Medivet hospital, functioning as both a first-opinion and referral hub. It offers:
  • A complex and varied caseload for advanced clinicians
  • A 12-vet team, including two medicine certificate-holding Branch Partners and experienced soft tissue/orthopaedic surgeons

Fully equipped theatres and diagnostic facilities, including:

  • TPLO kits and spinal surgery equipment
  • Arthroscopy, laparoscopy, endoscopy
  • Advanced imaging: CT, MRI
  • A supportive, collaborative environment where advanced clinical skills are nurtured
  • This role is ideal for those who wish to lead surgical cases, mentor colleagues, and make a significant impact on patient outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

As an Orthopaedic / Soft Tissue Surgical Vet, you will:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care in surgery and consults, adhering to regulatory and practice standards
  • Develop tailored treatment plans with clients
  • Work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team
  • Support clinical development and mentoring within Medivet’s network
  • Contribute to the hospital’s continuous improvement initiatives
  • Veterinary surgeons practising in the UK must follow RCVS standards and maintain ongoing professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

You are:

  • A qualified MRCVS-registered vet
  • Holder of (or actively pursuing) a surgery certificate (Orthopaedic or Advanced Soft Tissue)
  • Passionate about clinical excellence and client care
  • A proactive, collaborative team player, eager to mentor and inspire colleagues
  • Confident managing complex surgical cases in a referral/hub hospital environment
  • For overseas-qualified vets, full RCVS registration is required.

  • For vets requiring work visas, this role may qualify under the Skilled Worker route.
