JOB SUMMARY
A full-time position has opened in the Estates Department for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to provide technical support services for reactive/planned maintenance work in a range of settings while ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements. As a mobile Maintenance Technician, you will receive assignments from the Estates and Facilities Helpdesk.
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Estates and Facilities Directorate includes the Estates Management Team, which consists of 40 directly employed workers. The Team offers planned/reactive maintenance and emergency services. 24/7 365 days a year to 96 buildings in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Using mobile engineers from all building disciplines, we verify that the Trust’s buildings are fit for purpose and in compliance with current regulations. This is accomplished by allocating jobs to our engineers in the field using the Facilities Helpdesk and their portable devices.
You will be expected to manage your daily workload and execute assignments according to the priorities assigned to you. You will handle maintenance requests efficiently and effectively to help the Trust deliver a customer-focused estate maintenance service.
When doing normal activities, you will be adaptable and positive, with the capacity to cope with new problems as they emerge and pass on important knowledge to colleagues.

Applicants must have sufficient electrical experience; prior hospital maintenance experience is desired. You will be required to complete a five-day electrical to mechanical conversion training course, allowing you to work in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
You would be expected to participate in the on-call rota for after-hours emergencies, covering all properties managed by the Trust, which would result in a retainer payment and overtime. In addition to your annual income, you will receive £5,000 per year in Recruitment & Retention Premia.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would typically be put at the bottom of the band, in accordance with the Agenda for Change. This salary falls below the minimum necessary for sponsorship of a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
