About This Role

We are searching for instructors that prioritise their pupils’ education and hold themselves accountable for meeting the highest standards of work and conduct. Teachers act with honesty and integrity; have good subject knowledge, keep their knowledge and abilities as teachers up to date, and are self-critical; cultivate constructive professional relationships; and collaborate with parents in the best interests of their students.

The specific responsibilities of the role are:

  • To teach Spanish and French to students aged 11 to 16, including GCSE, under the guidance of the Head of Faculty.
  • Participate in the formulation of acceptable work schemes, with special duties in some areas.
  • Assess and report on pupils’ attainment and progress in KS3, as well as their GCSE results and progress in KS4.
  • To educate in accordance with the National Curriculum.
  • To serve as a form tutor for an assigned tutor group and perform other relevant activities.
  • To carry out a portion of supervisory duties.
  • Communicate effectively with parents on students’ achievements and well-being.
  • Know when and how to discriminate appropriately, employing methods that allow kids to be taught effectively.
  • Set homework and other out-of-class exercises to help students consolidate and expand their knowledge and understanding.
  • Establish clear classroom conduct standards and procedures, and accept responsibility for fostering excellent and courteous behaviour both in and outside of the classroom, in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Have a thorough awareness of all students’ needs, including those with special education needs, high ability, English as an additional language, and disabilities, and be able to apply and evaluate unique teaching approaches to engage and assist them.
  • To transfer knowledge and enhance comprehension through efficient use of class time.
  • Accept responsibility for enhancing teaching through proper professional development and reacting to colleagues’ suggestions and comments.
  • Understand how to evaluate the appropriate subjects and curriculum areas, including the statutory assessment requirements.
  • Please visit JD for more information. Unfortunately, applications are necessary, and we cannot accept CVs. We reserve the right to end the advertisement before the closing date if a suitable individual is found.

Early submission is encouraged, and ECTs are welcome to apply.
