About the role
Join us as a Senior Product Development Engineer and contribute to the future of coding and marking solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence throughout our products’ entire life cycle, from conception to continual improvement in customer settings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create world-class products that incorporate microfluidic hydraulic circuits, electronics, real-time control systems, graphical user interfaces, and software for global distribution.
Participate in a variety of projects, including technology development, new product launches, and product updates. Gain valuable expertise handling product requirements, designing from scratch, making enhancements, and supporting field and factory operations. As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you have the potential to:
- Take responsibility for creating solutions and designs for industrial coding and marking printers.
- Plan and carry out tests, evaluate data, draw conclusions, and provide design recommendations.
- Create documentation to assist your development operations and capture the knowledge obtained.
- Collaborate on-site with a multidisciplinary team. Mentor junior team members.
- Participate in Kaizen events to help improve processes and procedures.
- Facilitate technical risk assessments, FMEAs, and risk management processes.
- Enable product and prototype testing to validate offered solutions.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional design reviews to ensure proper technology integration.
About You
We are looking for a Senior Mechatronics, Robotics, or Mechanical Engineer with a thorough understanding of machine functionality and failure. You will be pushed to develop strong industrial coding and marking products. Your hands-on lab experience, expertise in developing and carrying out tests, and ability to interpret data to influence product design decisions will be critical to your success in this position.
Suitable individuals will possess:
- Engineering experience, ideally in product development or a related industry.
- Proficiency in fluid dynamics, structures/materials, system design, or control theory.
- Experience building and evaluating hardware control loops.
- Practical experience with machinery and experimentation.
- A degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar subject.
Desirable:
- Experience with electromechanical hardware prototypes and test rigs.
- Hardware-related control loops can be implemented using Python, C++, LabVIEW, and other tools.
- DOE knowledge (experimental design).
- Proficient in CFD simulation and FEA software.
- Line management experience.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma technologies and processes.
