UCL Centre for Engineering Education (CEE)
The CEE is a collaboration between UCL Engineering and the UCL Institute of Education. Its mission is to improve engineering education globally through evidence-based research, curriculum development, and innovative teaching practices.
Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP)
The IEP is a pioneering undergraduate engineering programme that integrates disciplines across six departments. It is recognised for innovation and thought leadership in engineering education.
Role Overview
The Associate Lecturer will contribute to the development and delivery of the Year 1 and Year 2 Mathematics curriculum for the IEP. This role includes:
Supporting the leadership and strategic development of the IEP Mathematics curriculum across UCL Engineering.
Collaborating with faculty staff to design, develop, and deliver high-quality teaching materials and resources.
Incorporating innovative teaching methods, including digital technologies and software, to enhance student engagement.
Providing effective instruction and guidance to undergraduate students across multiple departments.
Contributing to faculty-level initiatives, curriculum review, and the enhancement of learning outcomes.
The position is fixed-term for 3 years and offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse and highly collaborative academic community.
Candidate Requirements
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A degree or equivalent experience in engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development in higher education.
- Competence in using engineering software, e.g., MATLAB, for teaching purposes.
- Strong ability to present complex concepts clearly to varied audiences.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching approaches, including blended learning and digital education tools.
