The UCL Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) is a joint initiative with the UCL Institute of Education, focused on advancing engineering pedagogy globally through research, curriculum innovation, and evidence-based teaching practices.

The Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP) is an award-winning, cross-disciplinary undergraduate programme designed to redefine engineering education, combining practical and theoretical learning in a collaborative environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) to join the IEP team to develop and deliver the Year 1 and Year 2 mathematics curriculum across UCL Engineering departments. This role is central to supporting curriculum leadership, resource development, and innovative teaching practices.

The post-holder will work closely with departmental staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences in mathematics for engineering students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support teaching across Year 1 and Year 2 of the IEP Mathematics curriculum.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop innovative teaching resources and digital tools to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Support staff and students in understanding and applying engineering mathematics concepts.
  • Integrate modern technologies and software (e.g., MATLAB) into curriculum delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including curriculum evaluation and teaching innovation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in undergraduate teaching and curriculum delivery in higher education.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge and practical skills with engineering software, including MATLAB.
  • Experience incorporating innovative teaching methods and digital tools.
  • This role is eligible for Skilled Worker Visa or Global Talent Visa for international applicants.
