What You’ll Be Doing
As a Charge Nurse, you’ll be responsible for overseeing care in your designated area and supporting the overall operation of the home in the absence of the Home Manager or Deputy. You’ll lead by example—managing clinical needs, supervising care delivery, administering medications, and ensuring all statutory and legal requirements are met.
This role also involves:
Monitoring and supporting residents’ health and wellbeing
- Mentoring colleagues and supporting students as a practice supervisor/assessor
- Advocating for high-quality, person-centred care
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with residents, families, and professionals
- Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Contributing to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Be a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN
- Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high standards of nursing care
- Show leadership, teamwork, and effective communication skills
- Be confident in mentoring others and sharing your expertise
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and the ability to escalate concerns where appropriate
- Have the right to work in the UK and at least 2 years’ experience if applying for visa sponsorship
