Grade 6 Salary Range: £34,980 – £44,263 per annum (starting typically at £34,980 with annual progression subject to performance)
Location: Whiteknights Campus, Reading (with hybrid working available after initial training)
The University of Reading is seeking to appoint a Student Immigration Compliance Manager to join our Student Experience and Education Directorate.
This pivotal role will lead the University’s student immigration compliance activity, ensuring that we meet our obligations as a UKVI Student Sponsor. The successful candidate will join our International Student Advisory Team, which provides both regulatory support and broader advice to enhance the international student experience. The team works closely with students, colleagues across the University, and external stakeholders to ensure that compliance standards are upheld and that international students are supported throughout their studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the University’s student immigration compliance operations.
- Interpret and apply UKVI Student Sponsor guidance to develop effective policies and procedures.
- Support the University’s international student community by working collaboratively with colleagues and providing clear, proactive advice.
- Ensure compliance activity directly supports international student recruitment and retention.
About You: You will bring:
- Expert knowledge of UKVI Student Sponsor regulations and how they impact university operations.
- A deep understanding of student visa policy, immigration rules, and their practical application.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex immigration legislation and translate it into operational processes.
- A collaborative approach and problem-solving mindset.
