Grade 7, starting from £38,249 to £45,413 per annum (pro rata for part-time roles).

About the Role

The Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness (SCRK) brings together an interdisciplinary team of academics and community partners to explore and promote the role of kindness in society. We are seeking a dynamic Partnerships Manager to support and advance our strategic aims.

As the Partnerships Manager (PMSCRK), you will:

Champion the University’s strategic priorities in line with the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), focusing on research partnerships, business collaboration, community engagement, and skills development.

Translate SCRK’s research into practical, cross-sector applications, designing engagement initiatives that foster positive behavioral and systemic change.

Grow and diversify funding streams to ensure the sustainability and expansion of the role.

Drive civic and community engagement efforts, aligning projects and partnerships with broader University goals for social and economic impact.

About You

You are a proactive and strategic professional, passionate about embedding kindness across systems, organizations, and communities. You bring:

Demonstrated experience in knowledge exchange, particularly in business engagement or community development.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across sectors and levels of seniority.

A strong understanding of academic research processes, knowledge transfer, and partnership development.

Familiarity with the legal, economic, and policy frameworks governing collaboration with public, private, and third-sector organizations.

Proven project management skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery.

The role includes travel across the UK to build and maintain external relationships.
