Senior Staff Nurse – Renal Unit
The Senior Staff Nurse will provide the highest standard of nursing care to patients and their families, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and caring environment. The role involves planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care programs for patients, while supervising other staff in daily care activities.
Key responsibilities include acting as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring they have the information and support needed to make informed decisions, and guiding them to appropriate services. The Senior Staff Nurse will also contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical skills, ensuring evidence-based, holistic care is provided.
Confidence in decision-making and the ability to develop expanded roles are essential. The post holder will have an understanding of all medications used within the unit and will be required to complete relevant drug administration training. Clinical practice will be evidence-based, aiming to deliver the best possible patient care.
Collaboration within the multidisciplinary team and with community services is vital to ensure the highest standard of care for patients. The Senior Staff Nurse will be expected to undertake first on-call duties during nights and weekends.
