What You’ll Be Doing

As a graduate Cloud Engineer within DVLA’s Centre of Digital Excellence (CoDE), you’ll:

Gain practical experience from day one, shadowing professionals and working on live projects

Learn the fundamentals of cloud engineering and DevOps

Develop your skills in coding, infrastructure, and modern development practices

Work within Agile teams to deploy and maintain infrastructure

Build capabilities across platforms such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, React, and TypeScript

You’ll receive full training, mentorship, and access to professional certifications to help you grow into a fully-fledged Cloud Engineer.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who:

Have completed or are in the final year of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field

Have a strong interest in cloud computing and digital transformation

Possess good communication and teamworking skills

Are proactive, motivated, and keen to learn in a dynamic IT environment

Have the right to work in the UK and meet the 5-year residency requirement

You’ll Also Need To:

Start on Wednesday 24 September 2025

Be prepared for regular performance checkpoints throughout the programme

Participate in relevant qualifications and certifications (training and exam costs covered)

Understand that non-participation or failure to meet standards may lead to early exit from the programme

Additional Information

This is a full-time programme; flexible working may be considered but must be discussed in advance.

Applicants must have five years of continuous UK residency to meet security clearance requirements.

DVLA cannot sponsor Skilled Worker visas for this role.

The programme may create a reserve list of suitable candidates valid for 9 months.
