About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Adults Team in Westmorland and Furness.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated practitioner to play a key role in safeguarding adults across the region. You’ll join a dynamic, supportive team based in Penrith, with occasional travel across Westmorland & Furness as needed.

The Safeguarding Adults Team is responsible for key statutory functions including decision-making at the Single Point of Access, coordinating enquiry work, supporting case conferences, and offering specialist advice and guidance across adult social care services—including mental health and learning disability teams.

You will carry a caseload of safeguarding enquiries, lead on investigations, and work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including the police, NHS and voluntary sector, to ensure individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect.

A career progression pathway is available from Grade 11 to Grade 13 for those holding relevant qualifications such as Best Interests Assessor, Practice Educator, or AMHP.
