Exciting Opportunity: Clinical Nurse Specialist Lead for Tissue Viability
Solihull Hospital provides both in-hospital and community services, offering essential care and support to our local populations. A crucial part of this care is our Tissue Viability Community Service, a specialist team focused on wound prevention and healing.
Our community team strives to deliver the highest standards of wound care and skin integrity, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and preventing recurrence. We achieve this through specialized assessments, treatment plans, and training the community workforce to ensure all care aligns with national best practice guidelines.
After 10 years of dedicated service, our Clinical Nurse Specialist Lead for Tissue Viability is now open for applications. With strong support from the Directors of Nursing, we are seeking a passionate, experienced leader to foster wider community engagement and further elevate our service.

Key Responsibilities:
Through collaboration and training, empower staff to provide exceptional tissue viability care, ensuring the highest standard of holistic care for patients.
Lead and develop community health professionals into safe, competent, and evidence-based practitioners in wound prevention and management.
Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide ongoing patient support, reduce hospital admissions, and promote early discharge.
Inspire, motivate, and lead the team to uphold quality and safety standards, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications (Essential):
Registered Nurse (Adult/Child) on the NMC Register.
Post-registration CPD/qualifications in relevant specialty, including specialist experience and short courses (Degree/Masters level).
Recognized mentorship course.
Non-medical prescriber or willing to work toward it.
Desirable:
MSc or working toward an MSc.
Advanced health assessment module (where applicable).
Experience (Essential):
Significant post-registration experience at Band 6 or higher within the relevant field.
Ability to lead and manage a team.
Experience in delivering change management, service development, and educational programs.
Demonstrated expert nursing knowledge and ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist care.
Experience in multi-disciplinary and cross-agency collaboration.
Knowledge of corporate and clinical governance, safeguarding, and NHS policy.
Desirable:
Experience in patient/user advocacy.
Awareness of current research related to the specialty.
Additional Skills (Essential):
Strong communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize a clinical caseload while leading a team.
Report writing, audit, and presentation skills.
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing priorities.
Competence in clinical skills and expanded practices within the required scope.
Desirable:
Ability to articulate workforce requirements and develop strategies based on evidence.
